IFP completely isolates the gas charge from the shock fluid to eliminate the possibility of aerating the fluid. This is a common problem with cheap twin-tube shocks where the gas charge is stored in a plastic bag that can quickly deteriorate. Not a problem with Fox Performance Series. In addition to separating the gas charge from the shock oil, IFP adds a measure of ride quality since the floating piston adds "cushion" during compression.
