Description
The Motobilt JT 4 Link Suspension Bracket and Skid System remove the guesswork and replace it with fixed geometry, structural crossmembers, and protected mounting points that allow the Gladiator to grow without being rebuilt twice. It supports a true double triangulated rear 4 link and gives you the choice of a 3-link front with track bar for mechanical steering or a triangulated 4 link front for full hydraulic steering.
This is not a collection of brackets. It is a coordinated system that ties suspension geometry, drivetrain protection, and service access into one package.
A heavy-duty removable transmission crossmember replaces the factory unit and carries the front lower link mounts. A new rear frame crossmember becomes a structural member that supports the rear 4 link brackets and skid mounting. Together, they create load paths that make sense when the Jeep is heavy, flexed, and working hard.
Skid plates follow the contours of the drivetrain instead of hanging below it. They sit tight, slide clean, and protect the oil pan, transmission, exhaust, and lines without creating new hang-up points. Countersunk hardware and recessed bolts stay protected but remain serviceable with standard tools. Access panels are built in so maintenance does not turn into disassembly.
This system keeps your options open. Run factory style shocks and coil springs or step up to coilovers or ORI struts. Build the front as a 3 link or a full 4 link. Support larger tires, heavier axles, and aftermarket transfer cases like the Atlas II or Atlas IV. The factory fuel tank moves to the rear, and the exhaust is modified because the underside is no longer treated as an afterthought.
Installation requires cutting and professional welding to the factory frame. The body does not need to come off. The brackets locate off factory frame holes up front, while the rear keys into the supplied crossmember and scribe to the inside of the frame for accurate placement. Parts ship as fully welded subassemblies in raw steel, ready to be integrated into the build.
Once installed, the Gladiator is no longer defined by what it started as. Suspension loads into reinforced structure. Geometry is fixed. Protection is handled. Service access is planned. The Jeep becomes a platform that can handle whatever direction the build takes next.
If you are planning bigger tires, heavier axles, or a real suspension, this is the line in the sand. Everything before it is compromise. Everything after it finally makes sense.
