It is no secret that the factory transfer case shifting mechanism can be inherently difficult to shift, and it could be due to the original design. However drivers will experience hard shifting, buckling, and in lifted vehicles you might have experienced the vehicle going out of gear.
Advance Adapters has relieved this problem by designing their Delux transfer Case Cable Shifter. This is a cable actuated re-design that takes the pain out of shifting. Once installed, you can enjoy precise and firm shifts without the hassle.
Please note when using this kit on the new process 231, the factory bell crank linkage is removed. Without the bell crank, the shift lever pattern is reversed inside the vehicle. The stock Jeep has the shift handle positioned in 2WD all the way forward. With the new cable shifter installed, and the new shift handle positioned all the way forward, the transfer case would be in 4WD Low which is reverse of stock. Included will be a new shift knob that has the correct shift pattern.
