The system protects the vulnerable transfer case from debris and other obstructions by using the specially engineered 3/16"" thick plate steel skid.

This solid sheet of steel plate is bent, formed, and hand welded. When it's combined with the specialty oil pan-transmission skid plate system from RH4X4 it creates a seamless interlocking unit that provides the best protection.The most dedicated off-road drivers have proven that it's well-designed along popular trails including but not limited to the Rubicon, Rausch Creek, and Moab. The exclusively supplied "rock dome" RH4X4 bolt head protectors required for the mounting hardware and the total transfer case are included to offer a competitive premium package within the industry.

The upward flared design of the sides of the skid plate provides side impact protection that guides the vehicle off the obstacle rather than the high center. It's mounted to the cross member and frame rails, not the transfer case mounts. This creates the allowance for the transfer case to flex in its mounts creating zero vibration in the chassis. This smooth and quiet ride is unlike the rough performance of lesser quality systems.
