The Old Man Emu BP-51 Bypass Shock has gone through the same extensive testing methods performed in some of Australia’s roughest terrains. This research results in a shock absorber that the serious off-road enthusiast can be satisfied with.
The BP-51 is a large bore, position sensitive bypass shock absorber that comes supplied with remote reservoirs designed to be installed without the need for extra vehicle modification. The result is a comfortable shock absorber that is suitable for both the road and trail, that creates a large amount of end-zone damping which develops better chassis control, and improved handling while off-road.
Additionally, the velocity sensitive damping performs better the faster the piston of the shocks move, and the BP-51 shock absorber also generates damping dependence on the position of the piston inside the shock absorber’s body with the internal bypass design.
This design element provides the best in both worlds. You will have a comfortable ride during street driving, and a controlled ride over the toughest of terrains.
With higher levels of damping created at each end of the stroke, the piston will slow as it nears full compression, and extension which prevents harsh topping out against the bump stop, which allows large bumps and corrugations to be easily absorbed.
